Customising a bike has never been easier since the day when led bike lights became common place. Whether you buy a cheap set form halfords, some spoke lights or a top of the range magicshine set of 1400 lumen eyeball smelters they will make you stand out from the crowd.

Best Bike Bits

Best bike is all about the best bits of a bike - and the best bikes to put onto them. Actually - not totally true it's more about the best and bobs that can be added to a bike to make it special and individual. Just like an ugly person can make themselves more attractive - so any cheap bike picked up from Halfords can be improved by the addition of a few led bike lights here and a couple of spokey-dokeys there.

The Chopper

Those of us of a certain age will be familiar with the original Rayleigh Chopper bike. It as possibly about as cool as a bike could ever get - ever! But now that we are grown-ups then we need to be more circumspect in our choice of customisation options. After all, who would want to go overboard and end up looking like a complete fool on a child's bike - other then me that is?

Princess Bikes

Whilst it might be tempting to go down the gender specific route of bike customisation - beware of the perils of going too princess in this area - whilst froo froo and sparkles might be an easy way to indicate your predilections it might not be the best way to become a more rounded human being. The sparkles could well be considered eye-catching but how many and what sort of eye do you want to catch? Not that I want to be judgemental or anything! 


Glitter Bike

I would not like to say that the picture here on the left is abad - but could you imagine a forty year old man doing wheelies upon such thing? Even if he was also dressed up as a fairy in some spangle mountain-bike gear - it still just wouldn't work now would it?

Even if he was to parade down the centre line at the Sydney Mardi gras - it would be plane wrong - so the lesson that I am trying to illustrate here is that less is more.

Flower Bike!
